Happy birthday to the United States and Tennessee, turning 250 and 230, respectively. Celebrate the milestones with live outdoor music at three local landmarks.
Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery kicks off the state’s birthday weekend with Summer Fest 2026, on Sunday, May 31, a day of history, music, wine, bourbon cocktails, and family-friendly activities. Admission $15, kids under 12 free.
On Friday, June 12, Music on the Lawn transforms the grounds into an al fresco concert hall, showcasing three live bands. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. General admission is $55, plus $7 chair rental; VIP seating is $125, including dedicated bar and soft seating.

Cheekwood Estate & Gardens, home of the popular Thursday Night Out summer concerts, reprises Cheekwood Community Celebration: Arts and Music in America, with four days of live performances, American art and family-friendly activity, June 4-7. Programming includes music inspired by Tennessee landmarks and traditions—from Memphis and Nashville to the Great Smoky Mountains.
Explore art in the mansion, food trucks, specialty cocktails, a passport scavenger hunt, hands-on art activities, and the largest and most elaborate model train exhibition ever presented at Cheekwood, which remains on view through September 6.
Non-members receive half-price admission to the Community Celebration.

The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson’s historic home and Presidential site, introduces Roots & Rhythms. The three-event concert series on the rear lawn of the mansion features evenings of bluegrass, R&B and gospel, and country music, along with awards to musicians who have championed Tennessee’s musical traditions and culture. Inaugural honorees include Ed Snodderly, Charles “Wigg” Walker and Steve Earle.
The last three Fridays of June (June 12, 19 and 26), Roots & Rhythms events open for entry at 5 p.m., with awards at 6:30 p.m., and singing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Up-and-coming acts will perform before the ceremony. At 7 p.m., headliners will take the main stage. Events are open to all ages. General admission is $20 per concert or $55 per series. VIP tickets, including a tented lounge, dedicated bar and restrooms, are $50 per concert or $138 per series. Member tickets are $10 each. Children 13 and under are free. Food will be available for purchase from Papa Turney’s Barbecue and Andrew & Rachel’s Café.
