Network 10 has confirmed it will rest I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2027, bringing an end to a twelve-year run of the reality format on Australian screens.
A spokesperson for the network said the decision was made as the network focuses on “offering our audience a range of content on all platforms”, adding that the network looks forward to working with Julia Morris and Robert Irwin on other projects.
Irwin, who was announced as host in 2024, replacing Chris Brown, said it had been an “absolute privilege” to work on a show he had grown up watching.
“We have had the honour of sharing incredible stories and create a platform to shine a light on amazing charities that our celebrities have supported along the way,” he said.
“And to do it all alongside my co-host, and friend, Julia Morris made it a truly life-changing experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
Morris, who has hosted the series since its debut, described the series as the best working experience of her lifetime.
“I have loved every moment and will be forever grateful to Beverley and the whole team at Network 10 for not only believing in this show but nurturing it for 12 years,” she said.
“And to our jungle family watching from home, we love you.”
The network stressed the move is a decision for 2027, with its schedule reviewed regularly to maintain the right balance between new and returning titles.
TV Tonight reports there have been active discussions in the market regarding the format’s future, given its option has lapsed.
ITV Studios Australia CEO David Mott told the publication the company was “naturally disappointed” with the Network’s decision but also respected it.
“Given this powerhouse brand’s appeal with audiences and sponsors alike, we are excited to take it out to market with other broadcasters and platforms so it can continue to entertain audiences for years to come,” he said.
