SANDY, Utah (KUTV) — The Utah Royals beat the Denver Summit 2-1 in a match that featured a series of firsts.
It was the first Continental Divide rivalry game in league history. The win also extended the Royals’ unbeaten streak to nine games, the longest in club history.
The day began with Kiana Palacios scoring her first NWSL goal.
The Royals are tied with the Portland Thorns for the league lead with 23 points. Utah can leapfrog Portland with a win against the Thorns next Saturday at 2 p.m.
