Things to do in Southwest Ohio this weekend: FromOhio Music Festival, Book Fair, Cheese Fest, Oxford Wine Festival and more | Events & Things to Do

This weekend, many events are slated to take place across southwest Ohio, including music festivals, book fairs and theater productions. Here’s a look at what’s happening:

BUTLER COUNTY

Groovin’ on the Green: 7 p.m. May 28 at Village Green Park, 301 Wessel Drive, Fairfield. More info: Features Kanin Wren performing The Taylor Swift Experience. Groovin’ on the Green is weekly Thursday night live entertainment. Food, drinks and activities start at 6 PM, music starts at 7 PM.  

Oxford Wine and Craft Beer Festival: 2-10 p.m. May 30 at Uptown Memorial Park, 26 North Main St., Oxford.  More info: The Oxford Wine and Craft Beer Festival brings fine wines, craft beer and area artisans to Oxford uptown parks. Festival goers will receive five tasting tickets and a souvenir wine glass to sample fine wines from around the world.  Area artisans will have their work on display, and cooking demonstrations and live performances will occur throughout the evening. 

Tyler Christopher: A Tribute to Elvis: 8 p.m. May 29 at Sorg Opera House, 63 S Main St., Middletown. More info: Tyler Christopher will perform Elvis Presley hits for a night packed with nostalgia. 

Dayton Lane May Promenade: 1-5 p.m. May 31 at Dayton Lane Historic District, Dayton Street, Hamilton.  More info: Transport yourself back in time to the 1900s and see how Hamilton’s industrial barons lived. Tour many of the historic homes on Dayton Street and Campbell Avenue surrounded by music, gentlemen riding on old bicycles, and horse-drawn carriages to give an authentic experience. The home tour will be at 1 p.m. and is a bi-annual tour.

Oxford Summer Concert Series: 7-9:30 p.m. June 4 at Oxford Memorial Park, 2 E. High St., Oxford. More info: The Uptown Music Series is back, celebrating its 40th annual series promising summer nights full of diverse sounds and performances. This week’s feature is Lisa Biales Band.

The Rush Experience: Tribute to Rush: 7:30 p.m. June 4 at RiversEdge Amphitheater, 116 Dayton St., Hamilton. More info: The 2026 RiversEdge Summer Concert Series continues with The Rush Experience, a tribute to the iconic music of Rush. Wear something purple and attend for a night of live entertainment. All of the Summer Concert Series shows are free, and VIP tickets are available as well. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY

Donuts and Divas and Dudes Annual 5K: 9 a.m. Saturday, May 30 at 731 Children’s Home Road, Urbana. More info: Belle’s Yellow Legacy of Love, a non-profit organization focused on providing support and resources to people with autism spectrum disorder and their families, will host its third annual 5k run/walk event this weekend. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the race kicking off at 9 a.m. at Melvin Miller Park. Participants will receive donuts and a chance to win several door prizes. There will also be a mile fun run, which will not be timed.

Champaign County Library Local Author Book Fair: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at 1060 Scioto St., Urbana. More info: Writers from across Champaign County and beyond will come together to discuss their works, meet fans and sign copies of their books at the upcoming Local Author Book Fair event. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Freshwater Farms of Ohio Crawfish and Shrimp Boil: 4-7 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at 2624 N. U.S. 68, Urbana. More info: The state’s largest indoor fish hatchery, Freshwater Farms of Ohio, will host its annual crawfish and shrimp boil on Saturday. Alongside their choice of seafood, guests will get a beverage and desert. Seatings will take place at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling 937-652-3701.

CLARK COUNTY

FromOhio Music Festival: May 29-30 in downtown Springfield. More info: The creators of the IndieCraft Music Festival have organized a new event dedicated to musicians from Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus. With shows split across The State Theater and Mother Stewart’s Brewing, bands set to perform include Rug, Multi Ultra, Novel Vibrations and The Ophelias.

Springfield Arts Council 60th Anniversary Celebration: 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 29 at 300 S. Fountain Ave., Springfield. More info: The Springfield Arts Council will honor its 60 years of history with an evening of reflection featuring live performances which “represent the past, present and future” of the council. During the show, the council will also honor former performer and executive director Tim Rowe.

GREENE COUNTY

Tecumseh Land Trust Native Plant Sale: 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 30 at 4633 U.S. 68 N., Yellow Springs. More info: Various grasses, trees, flowers and shrubs will be available at this weekend’s native plant sale, hosted by the Tecumseh Land Trust. For the more popular plants, limits will be placed on the amount each customer can purchase. No reservations or presales will be offered. A catalogue of plants available can be found on the organization’s website.

Jim and Dan’s Comic and Toy Show: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at 3640 Colonel Glenn Highway, Fairborn. More info: Wright State University’s student union building will be filled with comic books, toys and other collectibles during the upcoming event from Jim and Dan Promotions. Special guests will also be in attendance, including Jeff Shultz and Craig Boldman from Archie Comics, Tim Fuller from Sham Comics and Kevin Crook from Crooked Comix.

MIAMI COUNTY

Books, Bouquets and Lattes: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at 329 N. Main St., Piqua. More info: Indigo and Co. Books will host a pop-up event featuring a coffee cart from Lovewell Coffee and a bouquet bar from Lemon Meringue.

Tires and Tortillas: 1-4 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at 9250 OH 201, Tipp City. More info: Truck and Jeep accessory retailer Slingin’ Mudd will team up with What The Taco, Mad About Mud Offroad, Brindle Farms and other local vendors for the upcoming Tires and Tortillas event.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

INNOVAtheatre presents ‘Steel Magnolias’: May 29-31 at 1470 Valley St., Dayton. More info: Dayton-area theatre group INNOVAtheatre will host its production of “Steel Magnolias” at the Dayton Polish Club’s indoor venue this weekend. The play, made famous by its 1989 film adaptation, focuses on a group of women and their struggles living in a small Louisiana town.

Passport to MetroParks: 6 p.m. Friday, May 29 at 225 E. Monument Ave., Dayton. More info: Five Rivers MetroParks will preview a number of its summer offerings during the Passport to MetroParks event. There will be live music, a food truck rally and various education, conservation and recreation-focused activities. Guests will receive a passport, which they can stamp at each attraction for a chance to win a number of prizes.

Trash ‘N’ Treasure: 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 30 in Dayton. More info: The St. Anne’s Hill Historic District is set to host its annual community garage sale event, featuring a wide variety of vendors and items. One of the largest garage sales in the Dayton area, a map of the vendors can be found on the St. Anne’s Hill Facebook page.

Cheese Fest: 4 p.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at 10400 Innovation Drive, Miamisburg. More info: Austin Landin’s Cheese Fest event will return for its fourth year, bringing with it a wide variety of cheese-based dishes. The event will also feature live music and a beer garden.

Tats for Cats: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at 2609 Wilmington Pike, Kettering. More info: Anchorhead Tattoo will host a charity flash sale where guests can get a tattoo chosen from a catalogue of pre-made designs. Vendors from Full Moon Markets will also be in attendance, selling homemade jewelry and other items. This event is cash only and will support the Purrfect Additions Rescue, which will have cats available to adopt throughout the day.

WARREN COUNTY

Guilty Treasures Vintage Booth Grand Opening: Noon-6 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at 98 S. Main St., Waynesville. More info: To celebrate Hailstorm Vintage’s newest vendor, the vintage clothing shop Guilty Treasures, the venue will host a grand opening event featuring dirty soda from the Silly Goose Soda Truck.

Funkhaus Grand Opening: 3-9 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at 121 E. Mulberry St., Lebanon. Funkhaus, Ohio’s first Ableton-certified music education center, will celebrate its grand opening with an event featuring live performances, music production workshops, a children’s demo class, studio tours and more.
