We’ve come to the final New Music Friday of May Music Madness, and this one is jam-packed with goodies.
The Macca himself, Paul McCartney, has released his latest album, which even has a guest appearance by his Beatles bandmate Ringo. Another prominent UK acts, The Alarm has their new album out today, featuring the late Mike Peters – read our review of it here. Guitar master Kurt Vile has a classic-rock indebted new album, and power-pop group Dogstar continue their mighty return. Arena rockers Shinedown have their massive eighth album out (read my review of it here) and rising alt rocker Violet Grohl has her debut out today. The King Blues are apparently back in real action, having dropped their second surprise EP of the month.
After teasing a potential break-up, Greta Van Fleet are showing that couldn’t be further from the truth, breaking out a new hit. Bedouin Soundclash have teamed up with Collie Buddz for a new song, while Tom Morello has recruited Serj Tankian for his latest. Judah & the Lion continue to spread positive outlooks on their new song, while Rat Boy are just ‘sick of it.’ Dexter and the Moonrocks, fresh off their viral smash “Freakin’ Out,” have brought in Treaty Oak Revival as guests on their next smash, while another of my faves, Adult Leisure, are back with a slick new song.
We have the fourth song from Sublime 2.0, as well as the fourth from The Bouncing Souls‘ next LP. There’s also new songs from familiar acts like Veronica D’Souza, Elena Moon Park, Jayler, Max McNown, Hew, Atta Boy, Effie Zilch, Tar & Flowers, Wild Pink, MEGG, Chris Pierce, Big D & The Kids Table, Matt Palka, Jonathan Plevyak, Almost Monday, Other Brother Darryl, Jordan Burchel, Fai Laci, Alewya, Lowrev, Trabants, Crimes of Passion, Wax Owls, A Perfect Circle, Iceage, Dogpark, Bike Routes and Sparta.
