New Glarus students earn selection to WSMA State Honors Music Ensembles

NEW GLARUS — New Glarus Middle and High School announced that six students have been selected to participate in the prestigious Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) State Honors Music Project. Students from across Wisconsin audition for the opportunity to perform with the State Honors ensembles, making this recognition one of the highest achievements for young musicians in the state.

The following New Glarus students were selected for the 2026 WSMA State Honors ensembles:

● Nala Williams — Flute, WSMA State Honors Band

● Sophie Smith — Alto, WSMA State Honors Treble Choir

● Adayla Babler — Flute, WSMA Middle Level State Honors Band

● Sadie Mitchell — Saxophone, WSMA Middle Level State Honors Band

● Anneliese Ramirez — Oboe, WSMA Middle Level State Honors Orchestra

● Amelie Miller — Bassoon, WSMA Middle Level State Honors Orchestra

Students selected for the WSMA State Honors ensembles participate in an intensive rehearsal process with outstanding conductors and musicians from across the country before culminating in a final performance at the Wisconsin State Music Conference.

“These students have demonstrated exceptional dedication, talent, and commitment to their musical growth,” said New Glarus Band Director Amy Doefer. “We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the way they represent our school and community.”
