Tom Brady may well be the greatest quarterback who ever played the game. A 15-time Pro Bowler. Seven-time Super Bowl winner, five-time Super Bowl MVP. The all-time leader in attempts, completions, touchdowns, and yards. But for all the accolades, he did walk off the field for the final time a loser, at the hands of the Cowboys in a 2023 playoff game.
On Sunday night, he tried to exact a small measure of revenge.
Brady made an appearance on Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart, a star-studded special that put the actor/comedian in the spotlight as the butt of the evening’s jokes and the target of some serious celebrity shade.
Hart had previously hosted Brady’s high-profile roast on Netflix, so the quarterback taking the stage for a chance at some payback wasn’t completely out of the blue. Some of Brady’s material was, naturally, football-themed and took aim squarely at Hart’s well-known Eagles fandom.
“It looks like we actually have some real Eagles fans here,” Brady said at one point, referencing a vocal section of the audience. “Not like Kevin, who only shows up at the big games when the Eagles are playing well.”
Brady then twisted the knife with the punch line, making a comparison that he knew Hart, like all Philadelphia natives, would find particularly offensive.
“You know, Kevin, we actually have a name for those people. They’re called Cowboys fans.”
Groan.
Proving once again, that the Cowboys live rent-free inside the minds of the entire Eagles organization and every single member of their fanbase… even the famous ones.
But it seems like that final loss that sent him into retirement three years ago may have left a lasting mark on Tom Terrific, too.
