Jon Hamm plays the ultimate celebrity crush in his new movie: himself.

Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, in theaters July 10, features Zoey Deutch as the titular Gail, on a fantastical quest from Kansas to Los Angeles in pursuit of Hamm, the celebrity she had agreed was a “free pass” before her wedding.

Hamm, 55, has a key role in the David Wain-directed comedy alongside several other A-listers playing themselves, including the Emmy winner’s old costar and friend John Slattery. In photos shared exclusively with PEOPLE, Hamm can be seen in his Hollywood home, greeting Deutch’s hairdresser Gail as she attempts to get him into bed.

One of the shots even has a clever homage to Hamm’s most iconic role, as Don Draper in Mad Men. When Deutch and her friends approach, the actor can be seen back on a couch with his arm extended, just like in the AMC drama’s opening credits.

As the trailer for Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass showed, it’s Gail’s fiancé (Michael Cassidy) hooking up with his celebrity pass (an A-list cameo not to be spoiled here) that spurs Gail to pursue Hamm and balance the scales.

Playing the friends Gail has picked up along the way are Otto (Miles Gutierrez-Riley), Caleb (Ben Wang), Vincent (Ken Marino, who also co-wrote the script with Wain) and Slattery, 63. Tobie Windham, Sabrina Impacciatore, Joe Lo Truglio, Fred Melamed and several members of the real-life Hollywood community also appear.

This summer marks the 25th anniversary of one of Wain and Marino’s most celebrated collaborations with Michael Showalter, 2001’s Wet Hot American Summer. The two filmmakers met at New York University and in 1993 co-founded MTV sketch comedy troupe The State.
