Comedian Kevin Hart, who just survived a brutal and controversial roast on Netflix, named the one celebrity who should never face the same fate as he did.
Hart, 46, appeared on the June 3 edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss the roast with Jimmy Kimmel.
There, he defended the concept, saying, “It’s an actual talent within the idea of roast that comedians have to have to make this work.”

But when Kimmel asked him if he thought Oprah Winfrey should be subject to a roast, Hart got animated.
“That’d be like spray painting the Sistine Chapel,” Hart said. “If I found out that Oprah said she wanted to do it, I’m driving 100 miles per hour to Oprah’s house. You cannot do this. No shot.”
Hart joked he would speed to Oprah’s house to convince her not to agree to be roasted. By: MEGA
Hart endured a brutal roasting in The Roast of Kevin Hart from comedians including Shane Gillis, Chelsea Handler, Pete Davidson and Katt Williams, among others.
The roast had several jokes that drew controversy well after the episode aired. For example, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who once did a set introducing Donald Trump at a rally, joked about George Floyd, who was killed by police brutality in 2020.
“The Black community is so proud of you,” Hinchcliffe said of Hart during his roast. “Right now, George Floyd is looking up at us all laughing so hard he can’t breathe.”
Gillis drew controversy for some of his jokes at the roast. By: MEGA
Handler was highly critical of Hinchcliffe and Gillis, saying after the show, “It’s just everything we know, that they’re racist, that they’re bigots, that they’re sexist, you know, that they think they’re like invincible.”
Hart was less offended by the controversial race humor, telling “The Breakfast Club,” “It wasn’t a tasteful joke to our culture, to our audience, but our audience that’s watching the roast, if you’re watching the roast, you get why they’re doing it. You get why the racial humor is on the table.”
Oprah is not rumored to be a candidate for a roast. By: MEGA
“I wasn’t shocked. That’s what they do. Go look at *[The Roast of] Tom Brady*, like, that’s what they do. It happens every year when they do a roast. It’s not new,” he added.
Multiple high-profile celebrities have been subject to roasts in recent years, including Tom Brady, Trump, Justin Bieber, Pamela Anderson and Bob Saget.
Winfrey, 72, has become a media mogul since stepping away from her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, in 2011. She currently runs her own network, OWN, and oversees her book club and her monthly magazine, Oprah Daily.
