Who is Chuck Timely, and how is he related, if at all, to Role Model? To be perfectly honest, we’re not entirely sure yet. All we know is that Role Model is so back, and he’s releasing a new album on August 7th called Chuck Timely & The Hourglass. We’re already obsessed with the aesthetic, colors, and album cover. We can only guess what this album title means, and as Tucker starts releasing singles, maybe the answer will become clearer. In the meantime, we’re streaming ‘High Hopes 3000’ and throwing out guesses for what this new era of Role Model music has in store for us.
Role Model’s New Persona
Can we say that Role Model is Chuck Timely? As any Role Model fan knows, he loves to act a fool, but also act as different characters that he’s made up. Previously, he’s taken on Saint Laurent Cowboy, which the internet adored. Our theory is supported by the fact that Role Model did, in fact, create a new TikTok account, featuring himself as Chuck Timely. We’re still trying to figure out what the vibes of this new persona and the vibes of the new album are. Regardless, we’re tuned in and ready for some new songs!
‘High Hopes 3000’
The first single from Chuck Timely & The Hourglass came with the release of ‘High Hopes 3000.’ Per Role Model fashion, the song was initially teased over on TikTok, but as fans latched on and begged for its release, it finally went mainstream last week. The first single has that catchy, irresistible Role Model-esque chorus filled with a little country influence.
“Aw, h*ll, I need some high hopes
Lord knows I could use ’em
I know I’ma lose ’em when the wheels fall off
Hey now, lend some independence
Stuck inside the fences like a go**amn dog
Long nights, heavy feelings
They say I’m unappealing when I shoot my shot
Come here, honey, show me how to do it
Does love come around, or does one come around to it?”
Just from these lyrics alone, we can surmise that this new era for Role Model will be inspired by long, dusky nights in the south. The ones where your grandma is sitting on the rocking chair on the front porch and your dad is fixing up the old truck in the garage as the sun sets. Sally may no longer be the head of the house. Chuck Timely is here to stay!
What Can We Expect Next?
In classic music release tradition, next, we’re hoping for a second single. We’ve got about two months until the official album release, which gives us enough time to beg Chuck Timely for one or two more songs. We’re sure we’ll also be getting some more random hints on TikTok as the weeks churn on. All of our predictions and opinions aside, we can’t wait for Role Model’s new era of music. Kansas Anymore was one of our favorite albums of 2024, and even though we’re not totally ready to let go of the songs on that album, we are ready to hear what Tucker has to offer us this year.
