Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry reunited to celebrate their daughter Nahla‘s latest milestone.
On Thursday, June 4, the Monster’s Ball actress, 59, and the French-Canadian model, 49 — who dated from 2005 to 2010 — were both seen attending their 18-year-old daughter’s high school graduation in Los Angeles, years after their child support battle.
In photos taken at the California State University campus, Berry can be seen walking into the graduation venue with her fiancé Van Hunt while wearing a black blouse and a pair of wide-leg jeans. Meanwhile, Aubry appeared to arrive separately, sporting a gray suit, white sneakers and dark sunglasses.
After they split in April 2010, they were in negotiations to work out a custody agreement regarding Nahla, who was 2 years old at the time. Berry is also mom to son Maceo-Robert, 12, whom she shares with ex-husband Olivier Martinez.

In 2020, the Catwoman star sought to reduce her monthly child support payments from about $16,000 to $3,800, TMZ reported at the time. Per TMZ, Aubry claimed he needed the money because he was unable to book modeling jobs after allegedly brawling with Berry’s then-husband, Martinez, on Thanksgiving 2012. Meanwhile, Berry’s lawyer alleged that Aubry was using the child support for his own fitness, clothing, electronics, car and health insurance, according to TMZ. In 2022, the child supports payments were reportedly reduced in half to $8,000, per Yahoo News.
While Berry has since kept much of her daughter’s life out of the spotlight, she commemorated Nahla’s early acceptance into college in October with a celebratory cake and a sweet social media message.
“Congratulations to my sweet Angel Nahla for her early college acceptance!” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. In the photo, a box that read, “Today is the sweetest day” was opened to reveal a pale pink funfetti cake and “You did it Nahla!!” written in white icing.

While serving as a guest co-host on Today with Jenna & Friends a few months prior, Berry admitted that her reaction to becoming an empty-nester wasn’t exactly what she’d expected.
“I’m not one of these moms that feels like, ‘Oh, she’s leaving.’ Yes, will I worry? Of course,” she explained in June 2025. “But am I excited for her to start her life and figure out who she’s gonna be? Absolutely. I’m dying to see who she’s gonna be and what she’s gonna do and what she’ll discover.”
Berry also went on to express wanting to “break that stigma” around being a working mom and not feeling “guilt” about balancing both family and a career.
“We can still be seen as good mothers, there for our children, but also, we have to be there for ourselves because these kids will grow up and move on and if we haven’t maintained a life for ourselves, then what happens?” she said. “What happens when our loves leave the house? What have we built for ourselves? So I think it’s really important to keep your love life, keep your career, keep the things that make you you, your hobbies, your passions, whatever it is.”
