Kirsten Storms is addressing her future with General Hospital.
The soap opera star took an extended hiatus last year after alleged break-ins to her home prompted her to relocate to Tennessee.
“This has been an eye-opening experience about the downside of my profession,” Storms wrote in an Instagram post on June 7.
General Hospital actress Kirsten Storms is addressing her future in Port Charles.
The past few months have seen Storms grappling with several struggles including an alleged home break-in, a brain aneurysm, and a restraining order filed by her ex, actor Brandon Barash, who claimed that she was in the midst of a “mental health crisis.”
On June 7, Storms offered her perspective on the latest allegations.
“I’m sure some of you guys have read the stories online regarding a situation involving something my ex-husband is currently trying to claim,” Storms began her Instagram post. “Because I did see one story online stating I reported the apartment break-in AFTER he filed something against me in court, I really need to address this entire situation.” Storms did not specify in her post who she believes broke into her apartment.
The actress said she felt the need to respond now because the “records and evidence” will back up her claims and also “because it puts my safety in a dangerous position” by shifting focus away from “the fact that there was a person regularly entering my residence while I was out of town.”

The actress then unpacked the timeline of events, claiming that she took photos of the original break-in incident — and worked with the building to address her concerns — before Barash’s filing.
She noted that in the aftermath, she relocated to Tennessee with her daughter during her extended hiatus from General Hospital at the end of last year.
“Choosing to take time off from work (for my own personal reasons) was a ‘leap of faith’ kind of moment for me. Seeking a ‘quality of life’ kinda thing,” she wrote.
She added that the continued investigation into the alleged break-ins has been difficult, and has only been amplified by the public attention.
“I haven’t been online much because of how the circumstances have been twisted into something that they shouldn’t be,” she continued. “This has been a very serious thing for me to go through.”
Then, Storms addressed what’s to come for her at General Hospital, writing, “Given what’s been going on, I can’t say I will be comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work.”
“This has been an eye-opening experience about the downside of my profession. My daughter is my entire life; she is (and always will be) my first priority,” she wrote.
Storms and Barash married in June 2013, and seven months later, welcomed their daughter, Harper. They announced their divorce in 2016. Barash first filed a petition in December 2025, alleging that Storms had a “history of substance abuse and mental health issues.” Barash claimed that Storms herself told him in May 2025 that she was “experiencing delusions and hallucinations” and “didn’t think she should have the child for her parenting time.” He alleged that his current wife, Isabella Devoto, helped Storms seek professional care at a hospital.
In the petition, Barash claimed that Storms had a “psychotic breakdown,” after which she agreed to “get help” again in June 2025 but “never followed through” when she relocated to Tennessee.
Storms announced in July that she was temporarily stepping back from her long-running role on General Hospital to move from L.A. to Nashville with her daughter. A social media post in October revealed that she was also planning to undergo surgery for a brain aneurysm. The star wrote that her neurosurgeon first discovered the aneurysm during a follow-up scan in January for a cyst she had removed from her brain in 2021.
It was around October 2025 that Barash claimed things took a “turn for the worse.”
In April 2026, Barash was granted a temporary order of protection after an alleged incident in November 2025 during which Barash alleges that Storms told him someone was trying to break into her apartment and “mess with her.” Barash alleges Storms asked him if he was responsible, claiming she was in a “state of paranoia.”

He alleged in the recent petition that a friend of the Zenon actress told him she had “repeated episodes of melting down, being triggered, hearing things/voices that weren’t there.” He also claimed that the same friend told him she believes the actress is abusing Adderall and other substances.
