The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory at Como Park kicks off its free, outdoor summer concert series this week with a performance by Innocent Reggae Band and eats from PolJam food truck, plus a climbing wall and other family-friendly activities.

Good Deeds at the Diamond

What: Pack at the Park
When: June 10-11
Where: Target Field, 1 Twins Way, Minneapolis

Feed My Starving Children hosts its annual Pack at the Park mobile packing day, where individuals, families, and other groups can volunteer at Target Field to hand-pack meals for children in need all over the world. Two-hour shifts are available on Wednesday and Thursday in the air-conditioned space.

What: “Spamalot”

Part of the Ordway’s Summer of Broadway series, “Spamalot” first arrived on Broadway in 2005—from the Monty Python mind of Eric Idle and his collaborators—and has won three Tony awards. The musical comedy nods to “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” and follows great knights, British royalty, and the Lady of the Lake.

Watercolor Paintings as Portals

What: “Echoes of India”
When: June 12-July 24
Where: Plymouth Community Center Art Gallery, 14800 34th Ave. N., Plymouth

Artist Neelima Parameswaran Krishnan paints rural India—“not the India of headlines or skylines, but the one that breathes beneath the surface,” Krishnan says. Her first solo exhibition of watercolor paintings opens this week in Plymouth and promises to transport viewers to an India that is alive and rooted.

Norse Adventures in Mankato

This community gathering, which features music, food, and storytelling (and mead, of course) is steeped in the history of Viking culture and focuses on connection with the earth and with fellow festival-goers. Hands-on activities and demonstrations highlight Viking-age crafts, clothing, and more.
