David Harbour is clearing the air about his Stranger Things costar Millie Bobby Brown’s alleged complaint of harassment and bullying.

“Straight up, Millie and I are working on several [projects],” Harbour, 51, told Variety in a Wednesday, June 10, profile. “You’ll see more of me and Millie. 10 years wasn’t enough. There is a special bond there. I love her, she loves me.”

Harbour played Hopper, the adoptive father of Brown’s Eleven throughout Netflix’s Stranger Things. News broke in November 2025 that Brown, 22, filed a complaint with the network when she and Harbour shot the last season. (Neither Harbour, Brown nor Netflix addressed the alleged report at the time.)

According to Harbour, Brown’s complaint was “a weird thing” and “came out in a weird way.”

Stranger Things costars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour have a long and complicated relationship. The two have worked closely on the show in their roles as Eleven and her adoptive father, Jim Hopper, respectively, for a decade, starting when Brown was 11 years old. Now, Brown and Harbour’s offscreen relationship is being dissected following […]

“It’s a show that went on for 10 years. We worked together for 10 years during her formative teenage years, playing father and daughter,” Harbour told Variety. “I don’t know if people have families and friends that you spend a lot of time with for 10 years — you occasionally get in arguments [or] disagreements.”

He continued, “In families, it’s OK because you’re just in a disagreement and then you come back together. The problem with a billion-dollar show is that there’s just hundreds of people who want to get involved.”

Without detailing what happened with Brown, Harbour told the outlet that it was “just a simple rupture-and-repair thing.”

“Once we cleared everybody out of the way and talked to each other, we’re fine,” he said. “Everyone nowadays is very scared of talking about things. People are very scared of being human. It’s unfortunate, because I don’t know how to navigate this weird media world. But it was completely normal, and we adore each other and always have.”

Brown, for her part, concurred with Harbour’s sentiment in a separate statement shared with the outlet.

“Obviously, I changed so much from season 1 to season 5, and David was there through all of it,” Brown told Variety via email statement. “Over time, our relationship became much more collaborative creatively. When you work with someone for that many years, we could really push each other emotionally in scenes. Even though the series has ended, there’s still a lot of gratitude. Getting to share that experience with him for so many years is something I’ll always remember and value.”

Within days of news of Brown’s alleged accusation, she reunited with Harbour at the Stranger Things season 5 premiere.

“We’re so lucky to have each other,” the British actress told Extra on the red carpet. “The show means so much to the both of us, and to everyone here. This has been the last 10 years of our lives. I’ve been living every day like it’s the first day on set, and maybe that’s what’s made me hold onto every moment for dear life.”
