90 Day Fiancé star Thais Ramone has hired a “powerhouse” legal team amid her divorce from Patrick Mendes as they battle over their 3-year-old daughter, Aleesi.
“Let me be clear: Thais has rights, and those rights will be protected,” Thais’ immigration attorney Kathleen Martinez said in a press release issued on Wednesday, June 17. “No one should ever be made to feel powerless because of their immigration status, and no one should be bullied into silence. My team and I will vigorously defend Thais’ interests and ensure she is treated fairly every step of the way.”
Thais, who is from Brazil, was married to Patrick, 36, for four years before their split earlier this year. (Us Weekly confirmed on Tuesday, June 16, that Patrick filed for divorce in May.)
According to court documents viewed by Us on Tuesday, June 16, Patrick requested sole legal custody and primary physical custody of their daughter, Aleesi.
Thais, however, has retained her own counsel, including Martinez and Las Vegas family attorney Carmen Marisol to fight for custody of her baby girl.

“Based on the information currently available, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that Thais is a loving, capable, and devoted mother,” Marisol said in the press release. “We look forward to presenting the facts and ensuring her rights are fully protected throughout this process.”
Thais, 30, is also leaning on founder and CEO of Dominton Talent House, talent manager Dominique Enchinton, per the press release.
“Thais deserves the opportunity to live in peace, raise her child, and move forward with dignity,” Enchinton explained on Wednesday. “We have assembled an exceptional team committed to ensuring she has access to the strongest legal and professional support available as she navigates this chapter of her life. Our hope is for a peaceful resolution for all parties.”
According to Thais’ team, as the custody and divorce case unfolds, they plan to “remain focused on achieving a fair resolution while prioritizing stability, family, and the best interests of her child.”
After Patrick filed for divorce in May, he proceeded to file for a default summary disposition on Monday, June 15.
The filing came 25 calendar days after Thais was served with the divorce papers. According to Nevada state law, Thais had 21 calendar days to respond to Patrick’s filing after she was served.
Patrick’s June filing alleged that his and Thais’ daughter has been splitting her time with each parent since early May.
He claimed in the report that Aleesi has been spending four to five days with her dad and three to four days a week with her mother.
In response to Patrick’s efforts to obtain a default judgment against Thais, she retained her legal counsel “to ensure she is fully represented and prepared to defend her interests through the appropriate legal channels,” according to the press release.
Patrick and Thais first appeared on season 9 of 90 Day Fiancé before starring on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After and season 3 of 90 Day: The Last Resort, which is currently airing on TLC.
