
Sonu Nigam, Salim Merchant pay homage to Abida Parveen
Sonu Nigam and other Indian celebrities gathered under one roof paid a heartwarming tribute to Pakistan’s legendary artist, Abida Parveen.
A video has been going viral on the internet featuring Nigam along with Shankar Mahadevan, Javed Akhtar, Anurag Basu and others, singing and playing Coke Studio Pakistan’s most iconic masterpieces Tu Jhoom by Parveen and Naseebo Laal.
The song featured in the 14th season of Coke Studio Pakistan curated & produced by Xulfi. The song instantly went viral soon after its release, making it one of the most-streamed song in 2022.
The viral clip showed the Kal Ho Naa Ho singer playing a Djembe (kind of drum) while sitting on the couch along with Salim Merchant.
Meanwhile, Shankar stood beside Sonu and took the responsibility of playing a tambourine.
As they played the instruments, three female singers including Harshdeep Kaur led the vocals of the chartbuster soundtrack.
The video has caught a massive attention online with social media users loving the cross-border exchange of music as one of them wrote, “Music has no boundaries.”
“So beautiful gesture. It’s the love and respect”, wrote another internet user.
`The move comes a day after the Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin singer opened up about his nerve-related health issue.
Nigam revealed that he has undergone several MRI and CT scans as he was in a lot of pain due to some nerve problem. He is taking medications and is undergoing treatment.
