The Fairborn UFO Conference will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Dayton Fairborn on July 11.

A local UFO informational event is gathering national attention as fascination in Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs, is growing.

It all started last year when the Fairborn UFO Conference was presented by a local club, UFO 101, that meets monthly in the New Carlisle Library.

The sold-out conference hosted 150 mostly local attendees and was limited in size by the meeting rooms they rented in the Fairborn Holiday Inn.

This year the size of the event has been expanded to include 400 tickets available and has taken over most of the venue which is now called the DoubleTree by Hilton Dayton Fairborn, 2800 Presidential Dr., Fairborn. The list of speakers, presentations and vendors has increased to include speakers well known to the UFO community.

The Conference is now called the Dayton UFO Conference because Dayton is the location name nationally associated with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

One of the organizers, New Carlisle resident David McWhorter, is amazed at how the event has grown exponentially in just one year.

“It’s not just local now – they are coming from all over the country,” said McWhorter, who has sold tickets to attendees from Washington, D.C., Chicago and New York.

The event is not just about UFOs or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, UAPs, which are not just in the air. It’s also about the natural wonder we humans have when we see or hear about something that just doesn’t seem right. People want to know what is going on. Living near and working at Wright-Patterson AFB has fueled local interest in UFOs for decades. Those local connections will be explored extensively in this event.

The conference will run all day on July 11 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A full schedule of presentations is planned. Speakers will focus on recent UFO evidence, Roswell, the infamous Project Blue Book, Wright-Patterson connections, crop circles and even Steven Spielberg’s recently released movie “Disclosure Day.” Vendors will be open all day.

McWhorter was very pleased that the conference was able to schedule Danny Sheehan as its keynote speaker. Well-known nationally, Sheehan is a disclosure attorney exposing UFO and UAP government cover-ups.

As McWhorter explained, Sheehan is the main person behind the growing pressure for disclosure of information the government has been gathering for years.

Bestselling author Donald Schmitt will present a Deep Dive into the Roswell Incident. Raymond Szymanski, a Wright-Patterson researcher and author, will talk about UFO facts, fiction and fabrications. Jeff Wilson will discuss those enigmatic crop circles. Ashley Hilt, ufologist, cryptozoologist and author, will talk about Mothman and Men in Black. Tom Wertman, who is the director of MUFON Ohio, will address Ohio incidents.

MUFON, which stands for the Mutual UFO Network, self identifies as the leading authority for reporting and investigating sightings, abductions and other unexplained phenomena. The organization is headquartered in Cincinnati.

Only two of the speakers were at the first UFO Conference and they will have new presentations. All speakers will be in-person and their books will be available in the vendors’ areas.

Experiencers, or people who have had a UFO or UAP encounter, will be able to share their personal stories with others in a special area.

The day will conclude with a much-anticipated question and answer session.

This event will be preceded on Friday evening by a VIP reception from 7-9 p.m. Appetizers, private meet-and-greet with speakers and conference admission is included in the VIP ticket. A cash bar will be available. VIP Tickets must be purchased in advance.

All conference tickets must be purchased through the Eventbrite Dayton UFO Conference page. If all tickets are not sold in advance, there may be same-day tickets available at the door July 11.

General conference admission advanced tickets are $33.85, including a purchase fee. VIP Tickets are $65.78, including the fee, and must be purchased in advance.

Organizers recommend buying admission in advance since the event sold out in its first year.

Organizers hope that this conference gives all who attend – UFO believers and skeptics – an opportunity to open their minds to possibilities.
