Taylor Swift wedding event possibly happening in Watch Hill, TMZ says

Some of Taylor Swift’s wedding activities may be happening in Rhode Island after all.

On Thursday, June 18, TMZ reported a gathering at Swift’s Watch Hill mansion on the night of Wednesday, June 17 – just four days after Swift’s heavily rumored Rhode Island wedding date of June 13.

Citing an eyewitness who lives in the area, the report says a large security presence and a lit-up house could be seen on Swift’s property on June 17, though the mansion’s lights typically remain off. TMZ reports another onlooker filmed a video of four unidentified women on the rooftop balcony, with three in black robes and the fourth dressed in white.

The celebrity news site also released pictures from the same night showing a woman holding a child on Swift’s balcony. TMZ assumed the woman to be Abigail Anderson Berard, Swift’s childhood friend whom she mentions by name in the song “Fifteen.” Anderson Berard welcomed her first child back in August 2024.

With another rumored wedding date of July 3 approaching, TMZ said the gathering could have been a bachelorette party, the wedding itself or even a different event. As of now, there is no confirmation Taylor Swift is in Rhode Island.

In December 2025, Page Six stated Swift’s wedding date as Saturday, June 13, and the theory quickly spread due to the singer’s love of numerology – 13 is known to be her lucky number. However, in April 2026, Page Six updated the wedding date to Friday, July 3, citing the save-the-dates.

One of Swift’s favorite holidays is the Fourth of July. If the singer did host her wedding over Independence Day weekend, her nuptials would join a long list of star-studded parties she has hosted for the holiday – all of which have been in Rhode Island.

Still, other Swifties believe the popstar will not reveal a wedding date to the public at all, or even that her and Kelce have already tied the knot in secret. One fan theory believes that the couple wed over the first weekend in June 2026 while Swift’s fans were distracted by the promo and release for her new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” from “Toy Story 5.”

While the Ocean State is no longer at the front of the TnT (Travis and Taylor) wedding location rumor mill, there was a lot of speculation about it in the months following Swift and Kelce’s engagement announcement.

Page Six first reported that the couple would get married in the Ocean State back in September 2025, citing a secret insider source. A few days later, Realtor.com columnist Kelsi Karruli reported that Swift and Kelce had chosen the singer’s oceanside estate in Watch Hill as their wedding venue.

A December 2025 exclusive from Page Six reported that the couple planned to get married at Ocean House, an award-winning seaside resort located within eye’s view of Swift’s Rhode Island house, which has hosted the wedding of other NFL players.

However, in April 2026, Page Six reported that the couple would instead wed in New York City. A June 5 report from TMZ agreed with the New York theory, claiming Madison Square Garden to be the wedding venue.

In a June 2026 interview with The Independent, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani listed Swift’s wedding in a string of upcoming events in the city, adding to the speculation that Swift and Kelce will tie the knot in New York.

“We know [the World Cup] coincides with the Knicks finals run, we know it coincides with July 4th, America250, Taylor Swift’s wedding, all happening at the same time, and we are so excited to welcome the world here,” Mamdani said.

Swift has not yet revealed who will be in her wedding party, but if she uses numerology as she typically does, it’s likely that the superstar will have 13 bridesmaids at her side. It is speculated that Swift’s bridal party will be made up of her longtime close friends, including Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively and the Haim sisters, as well as newer friends like Sabrina Carpenter, Brittany Mahomes or Swift’s soon-to-be sister-in-law Kylie Kelce.

In fact, many fans joked that Swift had already started her bachelorette festivities at a recent New York City appearance with the Haim sisters at Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

“The way that this could actually just be Taylor Swift’s bachelorette party,” one X user captioned a picture of Swift’s squad cheering on the New York Knicks.

Swift could also choose those she has previously been a bridesmaid for, including celebrities like Selena Gomez and Lena Dunham, or childhood friends like Britany LaManna and Abigail Anderson Berard.

When did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get engaged?

On Aug. 26 2025, Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce on Instagram.

“Your English teacher and gym teacher are getting married,” the superstar captioned a series of photos of the newly engaged couple in a rose garden, reportedly in the backyard of Kelce’s Kansas City home.

Swift began dating Kelce in 2023, after the football player attended the Eras Tour concert in Kansas City on July 8 that year.
