Cein, who cites artists such as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Jimi Hendrix as early influences, began writing songs and playing guitar at the age of 13. Her music combines folk-inspired storytelling with contemporary indie elements, focusing on introspective themes and personal narratives.
According to the artist, the meaning of ‘Lightyears of Grace’ is open to individual interpretation.
“The meaning of Lightyears of Grace can be interpreted in many ways, depending on what the listener connects with,” Cein said.
“For me, it is ultimately about resilience, the strength it takes to endure, transform, and keep moving forward through life’s most difficult experiences.”
The release marks Cein’s latest contribution to South Africa’s growing independent music scene and continues her exploration of emotionally driven songwriting rooted in personal experience.
