Bunnie Xo is shutting down rumors linking her to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger following news of her split from husband Jelly Roll, making it clear that social media speculation got the story wrong.
During the June 18 episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, the 46-year-old podcaster addressed online chatter that surfaced after reports emerged that Jelly Roll had quietly filed for divorce in May. According to Bunnie, a resurfaced clip featuring Kroeger—posted during what she described as a personal “healing era”—sparked a narrative she never saw coming.
“The news drops, I have f*cking Nickelback on my page,” Bunnie said, explaining that the timing was purely coincidental. She noted that the footage was actually recorded backstage at one of Jelly Roll’s Las Vegas shows in 2025 and that her nickname for Kroeger, “Daddy Chaddy,” had always been an inside joke.
“I am not with Daddy Chaddy. There’s no f*cking way in hell that that would even be a thing,” she said. “And no, I did not cheat on my husband and leave him for Chad, and like, none of that. Like, please.”
Bunnie doubled down on the denial, apologizing to Kroeger and his band for being dragged into the speculation. “This is so wrong. I am not dating Chad Kroger. I am so sorry to Chad and Nickelback for this happening. It’s embarrassing,” she said. “So there is no Chad and Bunnie Xo.”
Jelly Roll also stepped in to defend his estranged wife. While performing in Saratoga Springs, New York, the 41-year-old country star addressed the rumors from the stage and insisted infidelity played no role in the couple’s breakup.
“Nobody cheated on nobody,” he told concertgoers. “She just did a whole podcast about it. You can go watch it. Every word of it is the truth.” He also blasted the online rumors, calling internet users “liars.”
The clarification comes days after reports revealed that Jelly Roll had filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The pair married in 2016 and spent nearly a decade together. During that time, Bunnie became a prominent figure in her own right through her podcast and social media presence, while also helping raise Jelly Roll’s daughter, Bailee, during her teenage years.
As for Kroeger, the 51-year-old rocker previously made headlines for his marriage to Avril Lavigne, whom he wed in 2013 before the couple announced their separation in 2015.
