Just two weeks after the release of ‘The Night Champion,’ Koe Wetzel is already expanding the project, announcing a five-song extension arriving this Friday.
Rather than holding material back for a later release, Wetzel is leaning into the moment, delivering a fresh batch of songs born from the same prolific creative period that produced the album. If ‘The Night Champion’ set the tone, as explored in our recent EF Country review, these new tracks feel like the after-hours continuation, keeping the energy going long after last call.

“Anyone who’s followed me for a while knows I’m not very good at calling it a night,” Wetzel said. “With how much love the fans have been showing this album already, and knowing we had these additional songs we believe in just as much, we figured we’d go ahead and turn ’em loose while the night’s still young.”
The five-song expansion features “Magnet,” “Bad Decisions,” “Ronnie Ray,” “Rolling & Smoking” and “Meet You There,” all written and recorded alongside the album’s original tracks. Together, they offer a deeper glimpse into one of the most creatively rich chapters of Wetzel’s career, further showcasing his genre-blurring approach and unfiltered songwriting style.
That approach has already defined ‘The Night Champion,’ a record that continues to build momentum following its release. Wetzel has long operated on the edges of traditional country, blending rock attitude with raw, hard-earned perspective, and this latest move only reinforces that identity.
The expansion also arrives at a time when Wetzel’s profile is continuing to rise. His collaboration ‘Rocky Mountain Low’ with Corey Kent is climbing into the Top 10, while ‘Hurts Like You’ is already making an impact at radio.
Fans won’t have to wait long to hear the new material live either. The Night Champion World Tour kicks off its U.S. and Canadian leg on July 8, with support from a rotating cast including Shane Smith & The Saints, Wyatt Flores, Wade Bowen and more.
If the original album felt like a statement, this expansion makes it clear that Wetzel isn’t interested in slowing things down. Instead, he’s doubling down, extending the night, turning up the volume and giving fans even more of the restless, unfiltered energy that defines his music.
