A parenting influencer has paid tribute to his 2-year-old daughter after she drowned in his swimming pool.
Jamal Morton, also known online as J’Amore and Mr. Jay, shared in a fundraiser that Sadé Rose, the youngest of his nine children, went out of the house on her own and got into the pool.

“She thought she was a big girl and could swim all by herself,” the 33-year-old wrote on GoFundMe.
In a heartbreaking Instagram tribute, he shared a series of photos of his daughter, who went by Rose, writing, “You were the best daughter a father could ever ask for. Losing a child is a pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.”
Morton, who’s known for his POV videos and comedy skits, told his 2.6 million followers that he’d be taking a break from social media following the tragedy.
“I hope heaven is real because I can’t imagine you being all alone by yourself,” he finished. “So God, if you’re real, please watch over my baby. Rest in peace my sweet angel. Daddy loves you forever Rose.”

He added in his GoFundMe message that the family has had to move away, explaining, “We can’t live in that house anymore, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to work anytime soon.”
Prior to the accident, Morton shared some sweet family snaps on Instagram, including images featuring Rose to mark Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21.
“Happy Father’s Day 2 all the REAL FATHERS, STEP FATHERS, & Grandfathers out there!” he captioned them. “If you don’t take care of yo kids today ain’t yo day to celebrate.”

Morton and his wife, Jessica, announced Rose’s birth in April 2024 by sharing a photo of their “beautiful princess” on Instagram, and she often featured in his social media posts.
One Instagram video from the following April shows her taking her first steps, with Morton encouraging her to walk toward him. In another post on the platform, Rose can be seen looking up at her father as he eats a takeout pizza, as Morton jokingly wrote, “Caption this.”

Further circumstances surrounding the incident have not been made clear, and authorities have not publicly shared any details regarding Rose’s death.
PEOPLE reached out to the Jackson County Coroner’s Office for comment but did not immediately hear back.
