Kelsey Grammer recently met with President Donald Trump at the Oval Office — right after discussing the possibility of his own political run for office.
On Thursday, June 25, the Cheers and Frasier actor, 71, met with the POTUS, 80, for about an hour while in Washington, D.C., for a screening of Young Washington, Deadline reported. The men reportedly chatted about the film, their families, and politics. The actor also left with a “swag bag” that included hats and a Bible.
Meanwhile, on June 24, Us Weekly published an article about Grammer’s potential future in politics. The actor teased his political aspirations while celebrating Fox Nation’s new documentary The Patriot War, which he hosts.
“I would consider it. It would possibly tick that box for me, in terms of the service I feel I should have given to my fellow man — to my fellow countrymen — that I missed in the military,” Grammer told the publication. “Maybe that would be the way to do it. I have wrestled with it.”

However, a career switch likely won’t come anytime soon.
“I have a young family. I don’t want to be an absentee dad, so I put it on hold a little bit, but I do intend to live for quite a while,” Grammer shared. “I’m still pretty vital, and numbers may tell one story that maybe most people wouldn’t understand. … I’m vital and prepared to stay that way for quite a while, and yes, it’s likely I will at least throw my hat in the ring in some way.”

The longtime Republican has not been shy about his support for the current president. In December, Grammer made a bold declaration about Trump at the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors, telling Fox News Digital, “I think he’s extraordinary. He’s one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had. Maybe the greatest.”
Grammer is best known for playing Dr. Frasier Crane in Cheers in Seasons 3 through 11. He went on to reprise the role in Frasier for 11 seasons from 1993 to 2004, followed by a two-season revival on Paramount+ from 2023 to 2024.
