Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly urged Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to “hold their heads high” before they attended Peter Phillips’ wedding following months of scrutiny surrounding the York family. Andrew is also said to have insisted staff should continue addressing him by his former royal title despite relinquishing it in October 2025 and no longer being a working royal.
According to reports, Andrew has become increasingly frustrated by the way he believes he has been treated in recent months. The claims come after Andrew moved from Royal Lodge to Marsh Farm Cottage on the Sandringham Estate earlier this year. They also follow recent reports about Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie‘s living arrangements at royal residences.
The Daily Mail has reported that Andrew sent emails to his daughters before they attended Peter Phillips’ wedding, encouraging them to attend and “hold their heads high” despite recent controversy surrounding the family.
According to the newspaper, the sisters had reportedly been unsure whether to attend the wedding, but Andrew wanted them to make a public appearance and continue defending the House of York.
The newspaper also reported that Andrew has become increasingly angry over his treatment and believes he has been made a “scapegoat”.
Citing an unnamed royal source, the Daily Mail claimed Andrew believes King Charles “has exceeded his authority and acted beyond his powers” and that he is now “beginning to fight back”.
The publication also reported that Andrew wants his daughters to retain their royal titles and continue supporting what remains of the House of York.
Among the most striking claims is that Andrew allegedly told members of staff he would continue using his former royal title inside his own home.
According to the Daily Mail, he reportedly said he would “damn well” continue to be addressed by his “correct titles” until they “send a vampire to suck out every drop of royal blood in my veins”.
The newspaper also claimed Andrew still expects staff to address him as “Sir” and refer to him by his former royal title.
Elsewhere, the Daily Mail reported that Andrew is seeking compensation in relation to the end of his time at Royal Lodge and is also seeking a payment for his former wife, Sarah Ferguson.
According to the report, requests for face-to-face meetings with King Charles have not been granted, with Lord Benyon said to be acting as the main point of contact between the brothers.
The newspaper also reported the King has been trying to persuade Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to move out of the grace-and-favour London homes they currently use, which were originally made available during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
It also claimed Palace officials wrote to the princesses last year, suggesting their living arrangements should be reviewed, followed by another letter in April after no changes were made.
