Katy Perry has been dealt a major career blow after her latest comeback single failed to chart in the Top 100 literally anywhere in the world; not even one country.
Watch It Burn, the pop rock infused single hasn’t made the impact on charts that Perry would have hoped.
The high-budget glossy video sees Perry wreaking havoc as a monstrous scorpion-human hybrid as she puts a match to her past relationships and paves the way for a new beginning.
While it’s undeniably catchy, and certainly a return to form following the much-maligned Woman’s World, sadly signs are suggesting it’s too little too late for the star once thought of as pop royalty.
The single failed to hit any of Spotify’s Top 100 charts around the world during its first full day, and in fact only managed to chart on two in total; #123 in Brazil and #176 in Portugal.

Social media rushed to comment on the latest chart news, with one commenting on Reddit: “It’s hard for an astronaut to switch careers into the music biz,” referencing Perry’s short-lived trip to space.
A second referenced the inevitable backlash to Perry’s previous comeback single, Woman’s World, produced by Dr Luke.
“The song all but killed her anticipated comeback to the charts upon its release.”
One fan said it’s time for the star to take some time off so people can miss her, adding: “It was actually one of the better songs in years, but what she needs to do is seriously take a break after everything that’s happened the last couple of years.”
In another blow for Perry, her latest performance at a Belgian festival was cancelled due to a “government mandate” because of concerns over bad weather and crowd safety.
Meanwhile, earlier this month Perry and her boyfriend, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made their red carpet debut in New York City at the world premiere of Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour.
Perry wore a white vintage Lanvin gown while Trudeau donned a tuxedo for their date night.
While the pair struck a classic red carpet pose, they were also snapped sharing affectionate and smile-filled glances at each other in more candid shots.
