The Princess of Wales has surprised members of the public in the queue for Wimbledon.
The Princess, a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), greeted tennis fans who had been waiting for entry since the early hours on the fourth day of The Championships.
She will spend the day personally handing tickets to lucky attendees before heading off to attend a match on the outer courts of the grounds with Tim Henman, the former tennis pro.
The Princess will also meet children from Shine Camera Club, a photography programme which supports children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
As a keen photographer herself, she will view a portrait series created by the charity’s students last year, which highlights community trailblazers. Then, the Princess is expected to join the children as they photograph the tournament.
The Princess has received a standing ovation from crowds upon entering the Royal box on Wimbledon’s Centre Court for the past two years.
Her arrival at SW19 in 2024 marked her second public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis the previous year.
