Prince Harry has reportedly abandoned hopes of reconciling with his estranged brother Prince William, according to new reports.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, has been outspoken over recent years about his desire to restore relations with his royal relatives, particularly after several relationships became strained following his departure from royal duties in 2020 and his subsequent criticism of the Firm. While Harry made his desire for reconciliation clear, but Prince William has consistently sidestepped the subject. It is believed he has also avoided direct contact with Harry, including phone calls and text messages.
It is understood that Harry even attempted to reach out to William when Princess Catherine and the King received their respective cancer diagnoses.
Discussing the relationship between Harry and William on The Royal Uncensored podcast, News.com.au royal reporter Bronte Coy said, “It has been told to me that Harry reached out to his brother a number of times to make contact in that move towards reconciliation, like we’ve seen between him and the King.”
He continued, “But it’s been, I’ve been told, one-way traffic. Complete radio silence from the other side. As I understand it, Harry gave up some time ago.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, along with their two children, are set to visit the UK next month, though a meeting with Prince William is not thought to be on the agenda.
Sources suggest, however, that the family may visit with Harry and William’s father King Charles, whom Harry last encountered in September.
Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have not reportedly seen the monarch since 2022, during their most recent trip to the UK.
The family is expected to stay at a royal residence during their visit, though which property remains unconfirmed.
