Hunter Biden decided to troll Donald Trump on Thursday right where it hurts: the Nobel Peace Prize.
The president has long coveted the Nobel and has claimed, without irony, that he deserves “four or five” of them, but so far hasn’t managed to convince the people who actually select the recipients.
So Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, decided to help Trump’s cause by officially nominating him for the award.
The reason why, however, appears to be quite savage if you check out Biden’s post on social media:
The White House didn’t seem to be taking Biden’s generous offer seriously after celebrity.land reached out for comment.
“Just like Sleepy Joe, Hunter Biden’s brains are fried potatoes. We wish him and his family well during this difficult time,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle said via email.
Trump’s public coveting of the Nobel Peace Prize has been a years-long saga, which probably wasn’t helped when former President Barack Obama received the award in 2009.
After Trump failed to win the prize in October, the actual winner, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, symbolically gave him her award and reportedly got a red bag in exchange.
Trump’s disgruntled yearning did not stop there, however.
In December, Trump was caught on a hot mic grumbling to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he was snubbed for the honor despite the U.S.-backed ceasefire plan between Israel and forces in Gaza.
“Do I get credit for it? No,” he whined.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino tried to improve matters that same month by introducing a “FIFA Peace Prize” and giving it to Trump.
In January, Trump told Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre he believed he was snubbed for the honor in 2025 because of his push to acquire Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark.
But after he told the Norwegian head of state in a letter that he no longer feels “an obligation to think purely of Peace,” the prime minister explained that the Nobels are awarded by an independent committee, not the Norwegian government.
