New Orleans will be one of the main hubs for ABC’s 24-hour “Disney Celebrates America” special programming starting at 7 p.m. Friday.
The multi-platform broadcast — on ABC, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, National Geographic, FX, Freeform and ABC News Live — will include coverage across all 50 states. David Muir will anchor.
ABC News’ Linsey Davis is scheduled to arrive in the city on Friday and anchor her streaming nightly news show “Prime” on ABC News Live from there at 6 p.m.
On Saturday, the nation’s 250th anniversary, Davis will be reporting from throughout the city, including at Cafe Beignet, 311 Bourbon St. The eatery is located in Musical Legends Park, which features statues of jazz greats, and live local bands daily.
“Davis will be highlighting the impact and importance of New Orleans, from walking Bourbon Street discussing the impact of jazz music and including an interview with Wynton Marsalis and Jon Batiste, to reporting on the crucial role that the Louisiana Purchase played in the history of America,” an ABC News release states.
“Disney Celebrates America” culminates on Saturday night with Nashville’s celebration, including major musical performances and one of the country’s largest fireworks and drone shows.
