The O.C. stars Peter Gallagher and Kelly Rowan are still celebrating holidays together.

Almost two decades after wrapping their run as the beloved married couple Sandy and Kirsten Cohen on the iconic teen drama, the actors recently reunited just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, with Gallagher documenting the moment on Instagram.

“Look who came to visit,” he wrote alongside a photo of him with Rowan. “Kirsten and Sandy are wishing you all a Happy Fourth! 🙏 and sending you our love. ❤️ Great to see her, her lovely family and long-time pal. Here’s to the next occasion!”

Premiering on Fox in 2003, creator Josh Schwartz’s The O.C. centered on Ryan Atwood (Ben McKenzie), a troubled teen from the wrong side of the tracks whose life is transformed when he’s taken home by his public defender (Gallagher). The idealistic lawyer is based in Newport Beach with his wealthy wife (Rowan) and their adorably nerdy son, Seth (Adam Brody).

Though initially skeptical of welcoming Ryan in, but Kirsten quickly becomes a protective mother to him. And despite their differences in background, Sandy and Kirsten are true soulmates, and no controversies or scandals could break them apart.

Gallagher and Rowan reuniting on a holiday feels fitting, considering The O.C. is credited with popularizing the “greatest super-holiday known to mankind,” Chrismukkah. Due to his father’s history as “a poor struggling Jew growing up in the Bronx,” and his mother being a “Waspy McWasp,” Seth combined Christmas and Hanukkah by “drawing on the best that Christianity and Judaism have to offer.”

Chrismukkah became an O.C. staple, and the “super-holiday” has continued to spread over the years.

After four seasons, The O.C. wrapped in 2007, but the stars are keeping its legacy alive. McKenzie previously revealed that he started rewatching the show with his 7-year-old daughter.

“Bad idea, bad idea,” he admitted. “She of course loves it, like absolutely loves it. I had to cut it off after two episodes because I was like, ‘Oh my god I forgot about the smoking.’ I remembered the drinking. And there’s cocaine.”

He joked that it may be “terrible parenting” on his part, and still, “it’s adorable and really weird to watch it with your daughter.”
