Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s family and friends stood by their sides during their highly-anticipated, star-studded wedding, though there were not any formal bridesmaids or groomsmen.
The Grammy winner and the NFL player, both 36, tied the knot at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3.
“Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen,” a press release reads. “Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”
Speculation about who would stand up for Taylor and Travis at their wedding hit a fever pitch after the couple announced their engagement in August 2025. His brother, Jason, weighed in on the prospect of being best man on several occasions before the couple’s big day.
“Hopefully, I’m the best man,” Jason said during a September 2025 appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast. “We’ll see. Trav has a lot of friends.”
He added, “I’m just hoping to get the opportunity.”
Three months later, Jason was asked whether he was “prepared” to give a best man speech after Travis and Swift exchanged vows.
“Time will tell if there is one or anything like that,” he replied on Good Morning America in December 2025. “I’ve been given no details on that front, but however I’m involved, I’ll be happy to be. I’m just happy for those two.”
Meanwhile, Swift’s female friends remained tight-lipped about potentially being in the pop star’s wedding party. However, a source told Us Weekly in April that she had already asked her closest pals to get ready with her on the big day.
As for her bachelorette party, an insider revealed at the time that Taylor was considering two separate girls’ trips “so all of her closest friends can be there,” with New York City, Nashville and the Bahamas as options for the destination.
“There could be multiple getaways, and they all will be extremely private, with just Taylor and her close girlfriends,” the source noted.
According to another insider, the pop star’s friends were “planning something special for Taylor ahead of her big day.”
Swift previously teased the difficult logistics of her bachelorette party.
“Everyone’s scattered across the world,” she said on the U.K.’s Heart radio station in October 2025, adding that her squad is “so fun, but they’re so busy.”
Taylor and Travis know the commitment involved in being a bridesmaid or groomsman as they have both taken on the roles in the past. She was notably in the weddings of childhood friend Britany Maack in 2016, high school BFF Abigail Anderson in 2017 and Lena Dunham in 2021, while Travis supported Jason and Patrick Mahomes at their nuptials in 2018 and 2022, respectively. Anderson and Bedard were even present at Friday’s ceremony.
For their own wedding, Taylor and Travis went “back and forth between inviting everyone and keeping it small and private,” a source told Us in April. While it was not expected to be a “huge” event, another insider shared, “There will be many celebrities.”
