Amanda Kloots is continuing to honor late husband Nick Cordero six years after his death.
“Today marks six years since Nick passed away,” Kloots, 44, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, July 5. “If you knew him, you were lucky. If you didn’t and you’ve been following me, hopefully you have an idea of what a magnificent human being he was. Everyone loved him. He loved everyone. He truly lived life to the fullest, although it was cut short at just 41 years old. His face graced stages and screens, and his voice could be shrill like rock and roll or smooth like Frank Sinatra. He taught me to slow down. To listen to music. To be curious. To believe in myself.”
She continued, “I know it might seem weird to say, but even though he is gone from this earth, I almost feel more connected to him spiritually now. It has made me believe that we don’t have to say goodbye. We don’t have to stop talking to the people we love. We don’t have to close the chapter. It may look different, yes, but I feel closer to him now, six years after his death. He sends me signs almost daily. I ask him for them, he responds and I talk right back! Nick was always up in your business if you were his good friend or family, so it does make sense that he’s still up in mine. 🥹.”
Kloots went on to ask those who knew Nick to “send him some love today,” encouraging others to “post a picture and share a memory so that we can once again lift up the man who lifted us all.”
“And as always thank you to every single one of you that sang his song Live Your Life with me for 95 days during COVID turning him into the rockstar that he always believed he could be. 🌟,” she concluded.
Alongside the message, Kloots shared a slew of photos and videos featuring Cordero, pairing the compilation to Coldplay’s “Fix You.”
Cordero died in July 2020 from complications related to COVID-19. Months prior, Cordero was admitted into Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and diagnosed with pneumonia before testing positive for coronavirus. The pair, who shared son Elvis, were married for two years prior to his death.
In May, Kloots opened up about leaning on her faith while keeping Cordero’s memory alive.
“We just started reading a little children’s Bible every night,” she exclusively shared with Us Weekly at the time. “We get into bed, and we read a chapter of his Bible together.”
“It always has been since he was a baby and didn’t know what family day was, but we finally found a church in L.A. that I love,” Kloots told Us. “We go to church every Sunday, and then go out to the beach, and we always say our prayers.”
