Gabriela de los Ángeles Sanarrusia Chavarría, a Costa Rican influencer, was shot dead while sleeping inside her home with her boyfriend on July 4. She was 28.

Chavarría and her boyfriend Jorge Isaac Agüero, 30, were killed after multiple men broke into their home early in the morning on July 4 and fired multiple bullets, reported local outlet La Nación, citing local authorities. The pair was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.

Chavarría maintained a following of over 100,000 across her Instagram and TikTok accounts, where she was known for sharing lifestyle content, documenting her travels and posting about her 9-year-old daughter.

After the killing, suspects fled the home and allegedly burned a white vehicle, per La Nación. The outlet also reported that authorities believe the killing may have been motivated by retribution, but police said that they are continuing to investigate to determine an official motive.

Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Department removed the bodies and collected ballistic evidence from Chavarría’s home on July 4 as the investigation began, reported La Nación.

Chavarría seemingly last updated her social media accounts on July 3, posting a 2020 video alongside her daughter, which she captioned, “When did you grow up so much, my baby 🥹🙏🏻”

In the comments, fans posted tributes to the late internet star.
