She used to play soccer herself.

Before building a following online, Johansen played for Bryne FK’s women’s team.

Although she no longer plays competitively, she has said she still misses the sport. During an October 2025 YouTube video with Haaland, she reflected on her playing days, saying, “To be honest, I wasn’t the best with dribbling and stuff. I was more with speed. I was running. I miss it a lot.”

Haaland has also said their shared background helps them understand one another’s lives.

“She played football. We met and all of that. It’s nice because you understand football,” he said in the same video.

She and Haaland have known each other for years.

While they both grew up in Bryne, their relationship didn’t begin until after Haaland moved to Germany to play for Borussia Dortmund.

“I definitely think my style has changed since motherhood,” she said. “I don’t want to wear anything too uncomfortable because I have to be able to run after him.”
