I promise you I did not make up the term “Big Brother: Broveal”… although I wish I had.
If you want to see Big Brother fans get really upset, start messing with their live feeds. There was a revolt up north when Big Brother Canada took away the feeds (before taking away the show entirely… although it is finally coming back), and any time the live feeds stay off too long here on the U.S. version, you will find fans that are not very happy, sharing that unhappiness without reservation.
But for the upcoming season 28 of Big Brother, which premieres July 9 on CBS, the network is actually expanding where the live feeds can be watched. At least for a little while after every broadcast episode.

CBS has officially announced that the live feeds for season 28 will launch on Paramount+ and Pluto this Friday, July 10 at 9 p.m. ET, right after the conclusion of the Big Brother: Unlocked season premiere. But, as always, there is a twist. According to the press release, for the first time ever, after every episode, “viewers can watch the game unfold live for a limited time on YouTube.”
What does that mean exactly? It means that if you are not a subscriber to either on Paramount+ or Pluto (where full feeds reign supreme), you can still watch some post-episode house activity all summer long over on Big Brother’s YouTube channel. How much you can watch remains unclear as the wording seems purposely vague, but something is always better than nothing, and Paramount+ and Pluto will continue to offer 24/7 live feeds, so everyone can enjoy the riveting, edge-of-your-seat action of watching Houseguests snore at 3 a.m. in grainy green night vision.
To get their new YouTube initiative kick-started, CBS also announced that for the first time ever, the network will reveal its season 28 cast July 7 at noon ET on YouTube with what they are calling a “Big Brother: Broveal.”
As for what will go down on this Big Brother brodown throwdown, the release notes that “In the Big Brother: Broveal livestream, host Julie Chen Moonves gives viewers an inside look at this season’s Big Brother: Time Trip–themed house and introduces the new Houseguests.”

Ahhh… but will she be introducing all of them? Chen Moonves hinted strongly to Entertainment Weekly that there would not only be some returning players in the mix, but reality stars from other shows as well, telling EW: “I will say that if you are a lover of the top reality shows out there, then I think you’re gonna be very happy.”
The last two times the show brought in familiar faces — Survivor’s Cirie Fields in season 25, and Big Brother winner Rachel Reilly last year — it waited until during the actual premiere to do so. So even when the cast is revealed Tuesday on YouTube during the — I can’t believe I have to type these words again — “Big Brother: Broveal,” we all still may want to continue to… well, expect the unexpected.
