If upstaging the bride is a cardinal sin of wedding etiquette, one guest from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s nuptials might have some explaining to do.
Dancer Tori Evans, who performed on Swift’s record-setting Eras Tour, is stirring controversy on social media after sharing her attire for the pop star’s recent wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot at the iconic New York City venue on Friday, July 3, in a star-studded ceremony that featured A-list guests such as Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and Zoë Kravitz.
While much of the buzz centered on newlyweds Swift and Kelce, Evans raised eyebrows online when she showed off her wedding look in a cheeky outfit reveal video.
Evans, standing next to husband TJ Shaw, starts off the clip in a white robe and greets viewers in the style of a “get ready with me” walk-through. The dancer then feigns stumbling to the ground, which makes way for an abrupt transition that later shows Evans modeling her wedding ensemble: a light-colored strapless dress and matching scarf.

Evans’ dress quickly sparked debate in the comments section, with many fans comparing it to a bridal look.
“You really wore a color close to white to TAYLOR SWIFT’S wedding,” @maddiespamstoslay wrote on TikTok.
Shaw later took to the comments section on Instagram to clarify the true shade of Evans’ frock. “Dress is pink champagne color for everyone that doesn’t understand lighting,” he wrote alongside a laughing emoji.
USA TODAY has reached out to Evans for comment.
Fans and fashion pundits may have to wait a beat for a side-by-side comparison with Swift’s wedding dress, as photos from the ceremony have yet to be released. It was previously confirmed that Swift would be wearing a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture gown with Christian Louboutin shoes and jewelry by Cartier.
Evans, who’s also danced for Beyoncé, Ricky Martin, Cardi B and Bad Bunny, performed with Swift on The Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024. She’s also appeared in several of Swift’s music videos, including “Karma,” “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite.”

Several of Swift’s fans criticized Evans for her choice of dress to the singer’s wedding.
“Even if it’s pink, it’s so close to white,” @doyirgamlin22 wrote on Instagram. “Lol, why choose that color to wear at someone’s wedding?”

“Noooo!! Not pink that looks like white!!! It’s our girl’s day!!!” @paugngr commented.
“If you felt comfortable with your choice, that is certainly your prerogative, and I respect your confidence,” @heleng1227 wrote. “However, I can also guarantee that many women at that wedding were discussing it, and a number of them were likely disappointed by the decision considering you are close to Taylor.”

Despite the criticism, some commenters complimented Evans for her overall style and delivery of the look.

“Bold color choice to wear to the queen’s wedding,” @empoweredforward commented. “But you look slay!”
