Among the hordes of A-list celebrities in attendance at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding over the Fourth of July weekend, there was also a Floridian jeweler on the guest list.
If you’ve lived in Jacksonville or walked around the Beaches Town Center in Atlantic Beach at any point in the last 50 years, you likely recognize the name “Lubeck.”
What was once a household name in Duval County became known nationwide last August, shortly after Taylor Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce via Instagram (and almost broke the internet in the process).
Why? Swift’s bejeweled bling was crafted by none other than Florida native Kindred Lubeck, daughter of Jay Lubeck, master goldsmith and owner of Jewels by Lubeck in Neptune Beach.
And the FSU grad turned every Swiftie’s favorite jewelry designer was invited to witness Swift and Kelce’s nuptials at Madison Square Garden.
Here’s a quick introduction to the Floridian behind Taylor Swift’s engagement ring, what she wore to the wedding and a list of some celebrities with Florida ties who were also at the wedding.

Who designed Taylor Swift’s engagement ring?
Taylor Swift’s engagement ring was designed by Kindred Lubeck, daughter of Jay Lubeck, who owns Jewels by Lubeck, which opened in 1975.
According to USA TODAY and Brides, Kindred Lubeck moved to New York to open her own custom jewelry business, Artifex Fine Jewelry, which took off on social media. As of July 7, she now boasts 428,000 followers on Instagram.
In a 2024 interview with Voyage Jacksonville Magazine, she said she joined Jewels by Lubeck in 2019 and learned goldsmithing from her father during the COVID-19 pandemic, after graduating from Florida State University with a degree in psychology.
“I was working at a law firm for a few months when I had finally had enough, and out of desperation, I swallowed my pride and asked my dad if he would be willing to give me part time work until I found another job. I was 24 years old at the time…” Lubeck told Voyage Jacksonville in 2024.
“I worked in sterling silver for a few years and eventually made my way to gold. I went to a few engraving classes, came home and practiced for hours on end, working well past close.”
She specializes in engraved pieces (like Taylor’s ring) and told Voyage that it’s what “put her on the map.” Clearly, she landed in the right place on the map, since Kelce worked with her to create a custom ring for one of the most famous women in the world.
