Charli D’Amelio continues to open up about her mental health online.
The content creator, 22, posted a YouTube video from a recent hike she went on, and she also took the opportunity to answer a few fan questions about the latest in her life. In one part of the video — which was posted on Saturday, July 4 — Charli discussed what she feels is the “biggest challenge” of being 22 years old.
“Probably the fact that like my mental health keeps declining. The age keeps going up, but the number of therapy sessions keeps going up, too,” she admitted.

The Dancing with the Stars winner added that she’s also had to grapple with “fully being in charge for the first time” in her life. The new type of independence has required her to make her own decisions about “the life that I want to live,” she said, “not having like the guidance or the mentors to tell me or help me or guide me.”
Earlier in the summer, rumors began to swirl about a rift between Charli and her parents, Marc and Heidi. Months ago, fans pointed out that Charli and her parents no longer followed each other on Instagram, where the influencer boasts a whopping 40 million followers. Some reports speculated that the family members had a falling out, and there were claims that the feud might have been a result of a monetary dispute.
On June 4, PEOPLE confirmed that Charli had severed her ties with her family’s popcorn brand, Be Happy Snacks, which was launched in 2023. Marc, 57, and Heidi, 54, are still part of the business. Charli’s older sister, fellow social media star Dixie, 24, last posted a TikTok video about the product in November 2025.
In May, Marc responded to the reports in the comments of a DeuxMoi post about the rumored family dispute, which alleged that Charli had discovered that millions of dollars had been transferred out of accounts that were set up during the time period her career was managed by her parents.

“No one called me for an interview,” Marc wrote on May 30. “This is not true. We love Charli but she is being manipulated and I have the receipts. Over the last six years, we have remained silent and never addressed gossip but the time has come to set the record straight.”
On May 31, Charli referred to her mental state when she posted a TikTok of herself crying. In the caption, she wrote, “i’ll be back dancing later i’m depressed leave me alone.”
