Valerie Bertinelli still isn’t over the end of Hot in Cleveland.
Speaking to PEOPLE in a recent exclusive interview, the 66-year-old actress says she felt the series still had more stories to tell.
“I’m still more than grateful for the experience, and I’m still pissed off for cancelling us a year too early in my mind,” she says.
The TV Land sitcom followed three best friends — played by Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick — who move from Los Angeles to Cleveland after their plane to Paris makes an emergency landing, ultimately deciding to live under the same roof in their new city (and befriending the quick-witted caretaker of their home, played by the late Betty White).

The show aired from 2010 to 2015, and Bertinelli is revisiting the sitcom with Still Hot in Cleveland, a new “nostalgia-cast” podcast she co-hosts with the show’s former executive producer, Todd Milliner.
The podcast covers a season of the show over the course of two to three episodes, with guests that include Malick, Leeves and other co-stars and behind-the-scenes creatives, including the show’s writers.
“I love when I hear the beginning germinations of an idea and how it turns into six seasons of Hot in Cleveland,” Bertinelli says. “It’s amazing the way artists’ brains work. And for me, that’s fascinating. And I think my audience, we all are so similar and that’s why we like hanging out together — I think they’ll find it fascinating as well.”
The show — which is recorded in Bertinelli’s wine cave — debuts first for members of Valerie’s Place, her new fan community.
“I enjoy the sense of community that I was able to start on Instagram and taking it even further with Valerie’s Place,” Bertinelli says. “It really has become a community for people to come and they can make friends with each other as well and with me. And I still DM some of the people on Instagram and on Valerie’s Place just because I love these people. I love all the journeys that we’re on and how similar they are.”

Asked if there’s potential for a reunion or revival of Hot in Cleveland at some point in the future, Bertinelli says, “I don’t know.”
“I mean, I know Wendie’s not crazy about that idea because she’s right — without Betty, how is it Hot in Cleveland? But I don’t know. I feel like there’s a way… And through this podcast, there’s a way for us to just enjoy being around that joy again,” she says.
