Regardless of how you feel about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce getting married at Madison Square Garden, aren’t you a little bit curious to see what it looked like inside? I mean, it’s a huge arena that usually hosts basketball games and concerts. What do you mean a wedding was held inside? What is the seating situation for 1,000 guests? And, dang it, what specifically was in that luxury goods raffle?? I have questions!
Unfortunately, the answers to those questions will not be coming in the form of a documentary, something that I hadn’t even considered as an option until hearing that it isn’t one. According to People, Taylor and Travis are not planning to release a film about their wedding, despite camera crews reportedly being seen at MSG. Similarly, E! News reports that no film is on the way. Sorry!
TMZ shared prior to the big day that filming notices were posted at the arena, letting people know that video footage and photos were being captured in the area. Personally, I would assume this meant that T+T were having their wedding documented because…it’s a wedding. That’s what everyone does.
But rumors began swirling, including on Reddit, that the couple was going to release a documentary about the wedding for fans. It’s somewhat far-fetched, but at the same time, Taylor has released documentaries about her life and career before, including the 2020 film Miss Americana and her six-episode Eras Tour docuseries, Taylor Swift: The End of an Era, which was released last year.
It sounds like a wedding movie—though it would be incredibly lucrative—isn’t happening. How much of the wedding Taylor and Travis will show fans remains to be seen. Will it be a dress reveal in a magazine? A video posted on Instagram? Who knows.
I do know that a documentary could have answered another of my burning questions: What weird combinations of celebrities talked to each other? Did Baby Spice and Ice Spice cross paths at the buffet? Did Greta Gerwig discuss the floral choices with Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid? Does Steven Spielberg know who Shaboozey is? (These are somehow all real guests, btw.) The people need to know!
