Mick and Ronnie celebrate the upcoming release of Foreign Tongues.
There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not The Rolling Stones will go on tour in support of upcoming album Foreign Tongues.
Mick Jagger is raring to play some live shows but while Keith Richards doesn’t rule out performances, he’d rather do a residency than a full global jaunt.
But before then, a couple of the band treated fans to a very intimate performance of one of their new songs.
Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood got up on stage in London during a launch event for Foreign Tongues and played one of its new songs ‘Ringing Hollow’.
“So this just happened in London… 👀” read the caption.
“Mick and Ronnie have surprised guests at a special event, with a performance of Ringing Hollow, from the new album Foreign Tongues – out this Friday!”
The duo (Keith Richards didn’t join them) were joined at St Clement Hotel by long-time Jagger collaborator and touring member Matt Clifford on keyboards.
‘Ringing Hollow’ is about the Stones‘ conflicting views of the modern-day US.

“It’s about America as an idea,” Jagger told Mojo last month.
“The American Dream is intact for some people, and I’m sure we can find some wonderful immigrant stories that happened in the last 12 months, but we read about the decline of the American Empire.”
He added: “Is the Iran war America’s Suez moment? Well, it’s not the same at all, but there are a lot of questions about imperial overreach, and the lobbying system.

“The money spent on an election is absurd – it’s not corruption per se but unnecessary.
“Is it indicative of this administration, or is it something has been happening a long time? In any case, it’s not the same place as it was.”
The follow-up to 2023’s Hackney Diamonds, Foreign Tongues is released across the world tomorrow (July 10).
