This week, she reacts to premiere night shenanigans, including her thoughts on the new cast, how Rick and Angela are integrating into the house, a franchise legend being attacked by a dinosaur, and her own time-traveling adventure.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Before we get into everything else, Julie: How are you holding up in the aftermath of BB legend Rachel Reilly being pushed by a velociraptor into a volcano to her fiery death?

JULIE CHEN MOONVES: Rachel Reilly, RIP. Only the good die young. But then again… knowing Rachel Reilly, she probably has made the lava her minions, faked her own death, had Brendon in the dinosaur suit, and is coming back for revenge on Angela for celebrating her demise. Although one must always expect the unexpected in the BB World, in Rachel Reilly’s world, you should always expect her to somehow get the last laugh!

What do you make of Rome, Chuk, and Jason winning their respective comps, and which newbies stood out to you on day 1?

I thought it was interesting it was all men who won. Although Rome won the balancing competition, Kamu looked like he had it buttoned up at one point. Hmmmmm…. As for the standouts this season for me right now: Jason, Ashley and LaTrice. 

I know it’s super early, but what do you think of Rick and Angela so far, and the way the newbies reacted to their arrivals?

I am wondering if Angela will be this season’s version of who Rachel Reilly was last year: the Queen. She was definitely received like a rock star surprising their fans. As for Rick/Devens, the only person I saw freaking out was Angela. She is clearly a fan. But the others didn’t seem to know too much about who he is.   

Finally, you took control after that prehistoric tragedy and did some time traveling yourself to find Rachel’s replacement, going to Dec. 20, 2023, which also happens to be the same date as the Survivor 45 finale. What can you say about your trip back in time?

I can say you need to make sure to tune in to BB Unlocked Friday night, and, of course, this Sunday’s supersized 90 minute episode to find answers!
