The celebrity edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, which has been hosted by Jimmy Kimmel since 2020, is returning on July 22. The lineup of celebrities, who will be playing in pairs to support charities of their choice, has recently been announced, and some iconic stars are involved.
The classic game show will include a miniature Seinfeld reunion with Jason Alexander, who played George Costanza, and Wayne Knight, who played Newman, competing as a team.
This isn’t the first time that Alexander will be playing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. He also competed in 2001 when Regis Philbin was hosting. The actor ended up winning $250,000 for the City Theatre Group, Oakwood School, and the Scleroderma Foundation.
Alexander has competed on other game shows as well, including Match Game, The $100,000 Pyramid, Celebrity Jeopardy and Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown. When speaking about his love of poker with BroBible, he said, “To me, poker is a social game, and I’m happy to be social when I’m at the table. It is a game of wits and skill. I’m happy to say to people, ‘I have a certain level of wits and skill.’ And I very openly say ‘I have no idea if (the wits) will hold up at this table.’”
According to PEOPLE, the other stars scheduled to appear on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire this summer include Colin Jost and Michael Che, Will Forte and Taran Killam, Michael Keaton and Jon Lovett, Tig Notaro and Pete Holmes, Brad Paisley and Clayton Kershaw, Michael Kosta and Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jesse Eisenberg and Paul Giamatti, Krysten Ritter and Sarah Shahi, Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel, Awkwafina and Paul Feig, and Billy Porter and Leslie Odom Jr.

Fans have been expressing their excitement about the celebrity pairings. As one person on Reddit said, “That is a surprisingly good listing.” Another said, “I would prefer regular contestants, but these are about the best celebs/pairings we could hope for.”
