The Detroit rapper was on hand as Jay-Z celebrated the 25th anniversary of his 2001 album ‘The Blueprint’ in his hometown.
The “Renegade” pair was back at it again on Saturday night, as Eminem joined Jay-Z on stage during Jay’s performance at Yankee Stadium in New York, where he was celebrating the 25th anniversary of his hit album “The Blueprint.”
Eminem hit the stage alongside Jay to perform “Renegade,” their collaboration from the 2001 album.
“New York!” Eminem said at the end of their performance, after embracing Jay-Z. “Make some noise for one of the greatest motherf—ers to ever touch a motherf—— microphone.”
Eminem later returned to the stage to perform “Lose Yourself,” partially swapping in the instrumental for Jay-Z’s “Takeover,” in keeping with the evening’s “Blueprint” theme.
It was Jay-Z’s second consecutive night performing at Yankee Stadium. On Friday, he celebrated the 30th anniversary of his debut album “Reasonable Doubt” at the Bronx stadium, where he was joined by special guests including Beyoncé, Nas and Alicia Keys.
Eminem and Jay-Z have performed “Renegade” live together several times, including during the pair’s 2010 Home & Home Tour, which saw them performing two shows together at both Comerica Park in Detroit and Yankee Stadium. Em and Jay announced the tour together during a Tigers game at Comerica Park.
“Renegade,” which was produced by Eminem and Luis Resto, was originally a collaboration between Eminem and Royce da 5’9″ before Jay-Z was added to the track.
