Jay-Z was joined by a slew of special guests for his final 30th anniversary concert in New York City!
At Yankee Stadium on Sunday, July 12, the rapper, 56, brought out Rihanna to perform their 2010 duet “Run This Town,” marking the singer’s first onstage performance in two years.
Rihanna, 38, emerged onstage alongside Jay-Z, singing the iconic track to roaring fans inside Yankee Stadium, as seen in a video posted on TikTok. The Roc Nation artist appeared in high spirits as she performed the hit and later gave a solo performance of her 2015 track “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
“Oh my God, I missed this s— y’all!” Rihanna told the audience onstage. “New York, I love you guys!”
For her striking performance look, the “Work” singer wore a brown furry off-the-shoulder leather top, high-waisted dark brown leather capris and patent brown slingback heels. She accessorized her look with a series of belts and slim shades.
Jay-Z’s Sunday concert was delayed by three hours, kicking off at around midnight local time. The “Excuse Me Miss” rapper later shared with the audience onstage that the show was pushed back due to crowd safety issues, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“Let me explain the delay to you guys,” Jay said, per THR. “It was like 10,000 people outside, and we closed all the doors, and somebody rushed the door. They closed the door for you guys’ safety and everyone’s safety outside. There’s 10,000 people outside; I don’t want to start the music and people get trampled. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, but I had to make sure everyone was okay. I appreciate your patience.”
Despite the three-hour delay, fans were treated with more surprises for Jay-Z’s final N.Y.C. concert, including performances from Beyoncé, who sang her song “Drunk In Love,” and Teyana Taylor, who performed “Knock the Hustle” with Jay-Z.
For the rapper’s first show on Friday, July 10, Beyoncé surprised fans alongside the rapper to perform a rendition of “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” which originally featured Mary J. Blige.
The couple’s daughter, Blue Ivy, also played a piano solo for Jay-Z’s performance of his 1996 hit “Feelin’ It.”
