Benson Boone is supporting his sister, Kaylee Boone, through a major transformation.
The singer, 24, was there when Kaylee decided to chop off her hair in favor of a buzz cut. She gave a behind-the-scenes look at her makeover moment in an Instagram carousel shared on Sunday, July 12.
In the photos, Kaylee sits in a chair as her friends and family take turns cutting off pieces of her hair before eventually buzzing it off. Benson snips off a portion of Kaylee’s hair in one shot, followed by a snap of the musician wrapping his arms around his older sister in a comforting hug.
“So I did this thing !!!!!!!!!” Kaylee wrote in the post’s caption. “Super intentional, super powerful, & super healing !!!! Rebirth serving phoenix rising from the ashes SLAYYYYY!!!”
She continued, “So lucky to have so many incredible people who supported me & participated in cutting it off! I love my family & I love my friends & all my people !!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! 🐦🔥🤍🌊🌚🌈✨”

Benson’s close-knit family have been there along the way during his rise to fame. His parents, Kerry and Kate Boone, share five children: Benson, Kaylee, Natalee, Emma and Claire.
During an interview with 102.7 KIISFM in March 2024, Benson opened up about how much he values his family’s support.
“Truly, I would actually be nowhere without my parents,” he said. “I have four sisters, so there’s five kids, and they have done an exceptional job at raising all of us and raising all of us well.”
The singer has written songs for a number of his family members, including one for Kaylee called “Little Runaway,” which was featured on his 2023 EP Pulse.
During an appearance on The Zach Sang Show in May 2023, Benson revealed the song was “very personal” to his relationship with Kaylee and her struggles with mental health.

“The meaning behind ‘Little Runaway’ is that we don’t always know how to help people,” he said. “A lot of people go through their own battles and struggles that you can’t even begin to understand because you’re not them.”
Benson added, “Obviously, I want to help Kaylee, and I want to, you know, do what I can to support her, but sometimes it’s hard for me to know what to do. So, all I can really do is be there for her, and that’s what ‘Little Runaway’ is about, is like letting her know that I’m there, and if she needs me, I will be here for whatever she needs.”
