The hit music biopic Michael will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD disc July 14 from Lionsgate. The 4K Ultra HD combo pack with regular Blu-ray Disc and digital copy will be available in four configurations: a standard wide release, a Lionsgate Limited-exclusive collector’s edition with a 50-page photo book, an Amazon-exclusive Steelbook edition, and a Walmart-exclusive Steelbook edition. The film portrays the life of pop music superstar Michael Jackson from his rise with the Jackson 5 in the 1970s to the success of his solo career in the 1980s. Jaafar Jackson, the real-life nephew of Michael Jackson, plays his uncle alongside a cast that includes Nia Long, Juliano Valdi, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo. Michael was directed by Antoine Fuqua, written by John Logan, and produced by Graham King, John Branca and John McClain. The film has earned $371.9 million at the domestic box office, $1 billion worldwide.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will release the breakout horror hit Obsession on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD disc July 14. In the film written and directed by Curry Barker, after breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price. Obsession stars Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, Chloe Breen and Andy Richter. The film earned $253.4 million at the domestic box office and $426.7 million worldwide on a reported budget of around $750,000. Focus Features reportedly acquired the distribution rights for about $15 million at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment will release New Line Cinema’s horror film Lee Cronin’s The Mummy on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD disc July 14. Cronin (Evil Dead Rise) serves as director, screenwriter and executive producer of this reimagining of the classic monster movie franchise produced by Jason Blum and James Wan. In the film, eight years after the young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, but what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare. The cast includes Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace and Veronica Falcón. The film earned $29.2 million at the domestic box office, $90.6 million worldwide.

Magnolia Home Entertainment will release the action-packed thriller Normal on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD disc July 14. Written by “John Wick” creator Derek Kolstad and directed by Ben Wheatley, Normal stars Bob Odenkirk as the provisional sheriff in a small town whose attempts to escape his dark past are upended by a bank robbery that exposes a dark secret in the community. The cast also includes Henry Winkler and Lena Headey. The film earned $6 million at the global box office.

Season One of the “NCIS” franchise spinoff “NCIS: Tony & Ziva” will be available July 14 on DVD from Paramount and Alliance Home Entertainment. “NCIS: Tony & Ziva” picks up after Ziva’s (Cote de Pablo) supposed death when Tony (Michael Weatherly) left the NCIS team to go raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then — and where viewers find them in “NCIS: Tony & Ziva” — Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter Tali (Isla Gie) together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after. The DVD offers all 10 episodes and bonus materials including deleted scenes, a gag reel and featurettes.

The 2024 action adventure Starbright will be released on Blu-ray Disc (plus soundtrack CD) July 14 from MVD Entertainment Group and Ruby Max Entertainment. In the film, on a weathered farm at the edge of a fading town, Aisling (Alexandra Dowling, Emily, The Musketeers) shoulders grief far too heavy for her young frame. The days move slow, the nights slower, and the silence of loss presses in on every corner of her world. Then, under the shadow of an eclipse, the sky splits open and a star falls to earth. From its glow steps Raphael (John Rhys-Davies, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy) — not quite angel, not quite man — who places the living star into a locket at Aisling’s heart and entrusts her with its keeping. But Aisling is not alone in this night. Beside her stands Joshua (Diego Boneta, Terminator: Dark Fate, “Luis Miguel: The Series”), a young man bound to the ruins of a once-grand chateau across the water, a house haunted by debts, memory, and the expectations of a powerful father. Joshua knows loss as she does; his dreams, like hers, have been dimmed by sorrow and circumstance. With Raphael’s strange guidance, Aisling and Joshua are swept into a single, unbroken night of wonder and peril. The living star can turn lead to gold, despair to hope — and word of its power has drawn dangerous men from the shadows: thieves, debt-collectors, and a ruthless figure who will burn the town to claim it. Through empty fields, crumbling halls, and moonlit roads, the young pair flee and fight to protect a light that was never meant for greedy hands.

The horror film Dracula: Rise of the Vampire will be released on Blu-ray Disc July 14 from BayView Entertainment. In the film, when a satanic cult hellbent on raising the legendary Count Dracula commits a bloodthirsty massacre in a London church, a disgraced former detective, Gabriel Lee, must return to the field alongside his ex-partner to battle the undead and prevent a vampire apocalypse. Little does he know that the legendary Count and his faithful minions are not the only ones out for blood. Written and directed by Dean Meadows, the film stars Peter Jakeson, Meadows and Eileen Daly.

A24’s blockbuster sci-fi horror film Backrooms will be available to rent or buy through digital retailers July 14. The film has generated nearly $364 million at the global box office, including more than $194 million in North America, making it A24’s highest-grossing film to date. Directed by Kane Parsons, who became A24’s youngest-ever feature filmmaker at age 19, Backrooms expands on the filmmaker’s viral YouTube series inspired by the “Backrooms” creepypasta. In the film, Clark (Academy Award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor), a furniture store owner, and Mary (Academy Award nominee Renate Reinsve), his therapist, discover a mysterious dimension of seemingly endless liminal spaces hidden beneath the store’s basement. The cast also includes Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, and Lukita Maxwell

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the comedy The Breadwinner for premium digital sale and rental July 14. The movie stars stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze, in his first feature film, as a salesman whose wife (Mandy Moore) leaves on a business trip to promote the household invention she sold on “Shark Tank,” leaving him with their three children to manage their chaotic household. The Breadwinner earned $20.2 million at the domestic box office. It arrives on Blu-ray Disc and DVD Aug. 25.

Breaking Glass Pictures releases the psychological horror feature Mouser for digital purchase or rental July 14. Mouser follows Eleanor, a mentally unstable young woman struggling to maintain control after a night out triggers a disturbing psychological spiral. When she begins experiencing vivid encounters with a sinister talking cat named Mouser, her perception of reality quickly unravels — pulling her into a surreal and increasingly violent descent where nothing can be trusted. Written and directed by Mary Gallagher, the film stars Romina Valenti (Eleanor), Gavin O’Fearraigh (Ian), Stephen Moeller (Mouser), Michel Biel, Anastasia Lutz, Emma Cat, Maria Abreu, Chris Fisher, David Singleton and Eugene Gallagher.
