Selena Gomez‘s mom, Mandy Teefey, is seemingly hinting at tension with her daughters.
In a cryptic Instagram post shared on Sunday, July 12, the 50-year-old businesswoman and film producer appeared to hint at a family rift.
“My greatest accomplishments, love me or not. They are the coolest. I one day they will see what a bad ass I am and love me back as much as I love them,” Mandy wrote under a picture of Selena, 33, and younger daughter Gracie, 13. “I’m just mom. Who never gives up when they throw me in the trash. I tell ya mom you’re doing it wrong, maybe so, we will see. But no matter what I got your back.”
In the comment section, fans immediately urged Mandy to take her family issues offline.
“WTF, Mandy. If you’re having issues with them, you shouldn’t post this on social media,” wrote one commenter. “People will take it out of context and keep hating on Selena. I don’t know what’s going on, but go talk to your daughter instead of creating drama.”
To that user, Mandy responded, “girl. It’s typically moms not cool joke. Calm down. lol.”
Mandy shares Selena with ex Ricardo Gomez and Gracie with her husband Brian Teefey. She previously came under media scrutiny in the fall of 2025 when The Cut ran a piece detailing alleged issues at her and Selena’s mental-health start-up Wondermind.
Employees who spoke to the magazine claimed Mandy exhibited “erratic behavior,” including angry outbursts, and went through phases of sleeping in her office.
Mandy seemingly addressed that controversy in Sunday’s Instagram post, as the second photo in the carousel featured a Barbie doll, with smeared makeup, peeking through a trash can with the caption, “Me when I have to run the business I manifested.”
Selena has not addressed her mother’s social media post nor the allegations against Wondermind.
