The ‘Back to Life’ star is a Camden Town local who had a clothes stall at the market back in the 80s before his rise to global music fame.
His Back II Life Café runs on selected dates in July and August starting on Sunday (July 19) as part of a Summer Warm Up Weekend that also includes kids’ music, face painting, fitness fun with Stronger with Sita, and Cheeky Meeky games.

The al fresco DJ sessions will continue over the summer and also feature special guests like Greg Edwards on July 24 and David Rodigan MBE on August 14 – with Jazzie B himself returning on August 21 and 29.
This Sunday will also be a day of commemoration and poignant tribute to former Camden Town local Amy Winehouse.

A Day for Amy marks 15 years since the tragic early death of the Back to Black singer at her home in Camden Square.
Held in partnership with the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the event at the Stables Market amphitheatre is also free and includes talks about the singer’s life and influence – and a live jazz concert at 3.30pm by Lucy Randall and her band performing the singer’s classic tracks.
Later in July there’s the South Asian Mela (25th July) featuring live music, dance, stalls and four-metre-high walkabout puppets.
Family fun is a key focus, with Camden Market offering free themed children’s workshops every Wednesday throughout the summer.
Walk in activities will include teddy bear picnics, circus skills sessions, and carnival steel pan drumming and scrapbook making
The market’s summer programme concludes with a family friendly bank holiday all-dayer on August 29 featuring live music, guest DJs, creative workshops, and activities for all ages.
Events take place across Market Place, Hawley Wharf and the Stables Market and are free to all.
There are also wristbands offering discounts to the market’s many traders with further information on all events at camdenmarket.com.
