The Wild Eye Pub Summer Festival Soul and Blues Series continues at the Wild Eye Pub on Saturday, July 18 at 5:00 p.m. The creek-side Festival features Annette Taborn and Miles Lee, Jessica Malone, Bob Mora and the Third Degree, and Katie Knipp.
After performing at the prestigious international Blues Competition in Michigan, Annette Taborn has since been supported by Bonnie Raitt in her educational program (including here in Nevada County), and currently is a member of Las Ninas Muertas.
Jessica Malone is a local artist with a voice and music described as both soulful and spiritual. She has a strong presence throughout Northern California and has appeared at major festivals and concert halls such as The Redwood Ramble and Mondavi Center, and has opened for major artists such as Arlo Guthrie and Joe Craven.
Originally from Chicago, Bob Mora has led one of the top blues bands in Nevada County for many years. His current band ‘The Third Degree’ expands their playlist to include blues, reggae and jazz, and is one of the premier bands in Nevada County, touting some of the top jazz musicians in the region including John Girton, Alan Feeney, and Matt Langley.
Katie Knipp is one of Northern California’s top artists, with the Sacramento News and Review calling her “one of the most compelling voices in contemporary blues.” Katie is a two time SAMMIE award winner for best Blues Artist, and four times in the past eight years has had top 10 albums on national Billboard Blues charts. She is joined by her stellar band including local Grass Valley resident Poncho Tomaselli, from War and Tower of Power fame.

The Wild Eye Pub’s 2nd installment of the Summer Soul and Blues Festival will be on Saturday, July 18th at 535 Mill Street from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Weather permitting, both the concert and dinner will be Creekside along the bank of Wolf Creek. The Wild Eye Pub features fresh, local, sustainably grown organic food and a full bar. Reservations are highly recommended.
